Lesson 6 — Listening and Real Conversation Flow

Objective

By the end of this session, students will hold their own when a Vietnamese conversation moves too fast — asking for slower speech, requesting repetition, signalling that they’re still learning, and using simple question tags to stay in the flow.

Real-Life Scenario

A vendor at the chợ asks you a fast question. A neighbour starts chatting at full speed. A Grab driver wants to make small talk. Real Vietnamese, real time — and you don’t have to understand everything to keep going.
