The Soul of Thailand: Encounters with Extraordinary Locals Who Touched My Heart

Over the years, I’ve worked with many people from Thailand in the hospitality industry. They’ve always been hardworking, kind, and ready to help. One of the best massage therapists in Perth is why I’m in Krabi now. I found her through a friend, and she’s amazing. She doesn’t just give great massages at her home salon; she also told me about her hometown and her daughter who’s living there with her grandmother while studying. Kwan is working really hard in Australia to give her child a better life. It’s a really selfless thing to do.

But it was only when I got to the area that I really saw how kind and good-hearted they are. In the past few weeks, I’ve met many wonderful people, but four from this area stand out.

My trip to Phi Phi Island was made special by the amazing crew from Krabi Mukandaman travel. After surgery, I was worried about getting on and off the speedboat in rough waters. But the crew was so kind and helpful, they made it easy and fun. They didn’t just help me physically; they made the trip a happy memory.

Another person who touched my heart was at the Ayodhara Palace Hotel. The hotel is big, with rooms for all kinds of travellers. I’ve talked about this hotel before, like when we got a surprise upgrade. It wasn’t too busy, so we got to know the staff. Apsara, a lovely lady who served us breakfast and cleaned our room, was always happy and never complained. We left her a small tip, but she deserved so much more. When we were leaving, she hugged me tightly and we both cried. She was so kind and respectful.

Then there’s John from Serm Siam Hairdressing. I found him when I needed a haircut and color while walking around Krabi. He’s not just good at cutting hair; he cares a lot about others in his city. He’s a hairdressing teacher, too. He told me that every Wednesday, he and his students go to the local hospital to give free hair washes and cuts to sick and needy people. He showed me photos, and the smiles on their faces were so special.

These people didn’t just make my trip better; they showed me how kind and selfless people can be. Their actions and care have really stuck with me. Love MyLifestyle
