Extra Brightening 8 Superfood – Nivea – Thailand
Let me tell you about my latest escapade in the sweltering heat of Thailand. As you know, staying fresh is a non-negotiable for me, especially here where the sun seems to have a personal grudge against humanity. Unlike some daring souls who prefer to ‘go natural’, I’m always equipped with my trusty deodorant, plus a backup in my bag because, well, you never know.
So there I was, in a Thai 7-Eleven (which, by the way, is like a mini supermarket, not the quaint little corner store we’re used to in Australia), in desperate need of a deodorant refill. I was in the deodorant aisle, staring at a sea of products, none of which had the courtesy to offer a single word in English. “No worries,” I thought, “stick with a known brand.” So, Nivea, it was. But did the label say ‘antiperspirant’ or ‘deodorant’? Nope, not a hint. It was like playing Russian roulette with your armpits.
What were these superfoods, and what were they planning to feed on? My armpits? Intrigued and a tad apprehensive, I turned to Google once back at my hotel. Turns out, this little glass bottle was a concoction designed for underarms that have seen the brunt of shaving, promising to brighten and nourish. Who would have thought my armpits would get a gourmet treatment in Thailand?
So, readers, a word of advice: when in Thailand, either bring your own deo, or be prepared for an impromptu lesson in Thai skincare. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll return home with underarms that could rival the radiance of the Thai sun. Remember, it’s all part of the adventure.
